Our souls (bodies) were formed of the earth and became “living souls” when we were given the “breath of life,” (i.e. spirit that goes back to God after we die). When we die, the body becomes a “dead soul.” The body that is made of the ground/earth could be thought of as a mortal avatar for the immortal spirit.
Is God Using An Avatar?
The most common uses of the word avatar as defined on Dictionary.com are:
Hindu Mythology. the descent of a deity to the earth in an incarnate form or some manifest shape; the incarnation of a god.
Digital Technology. a graphical image that represents a person, as on the Internet.
It’s very interesting that the bible says God’s spirit is in each of us, basically incarnating our carnal bodies, since the thought of us all being an incarnation of god is not usually associated with Christianity.
2 Corinthians 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Exodus 29:45 I will dwell inside the Israelites and be their God.
The bible actually suggests we are all bodies/souls with YHWH’s spirit incarnating us (1 Corin. 3:16, 1 Corin. 6:19). This is why Jesus (Yehoshua) spoke of his body as the temple of God that would be raised up again (John 2:21).
Mainstream Christians might not like the idea that we are “gods” incarnating these flesh bodies. But Christ said we were gods.
Currently Seated in Heavenly Places
According to the bible “Believers in Christ Have Descended From Heaven.” That goes against what mainstream Christianity teaches, but not what the bible teaches.
Ecclesiastes 12:6 Remember Him before the silver cord is broken and the golden bowl is crushed, the pitcher by the well is shattered and the wheel at the cistern is crushed; 7 then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.
If the spirit (that is God’s) goes back to Him after we die, that means it had to descend from heaven to get to us to make us alive in the first place.
Ephesians 2:6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages He might display the surpassing riches of His grace, demonstrated by His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
The Rainbow Bridge Tunnel
So how do the spirits in heaven get into the avatars of our bodies? They would have to go through the rainbow bridge. The media often portrays dimensional and time travel through either a rainbow, or a tunnel, a rainbow-colored tunnel, water, or mirrors. The most commonly known rainbow bridge is Bifrös (pronounced roughly “BEEF-roast;” Old Norse Bifröst).
From Wikipedia: In Norse mythology, Bifröst (/ˈbɪvrɒst/ or sometimes Bilröst or Bivrost) is a burning rainbow bridge that reaches between Midgard (Earth) and Asgard, the realm of the gods
Notice that it is “burning.” In the video below I discuss how I think in order to come face-to-face with God we have to go through the “lake of fire” to be purified. The mirror and water symbolism in the media can be about how we have to go through the Seven Essene Mirrors and the “lake” of fire.

Is Heaven Boring As Hell?
Some atheists have joked that heaven (the way mainstream Christianity describes it) would be rather boring. To suggest that, in heaven, no one will be crying, dying, or sinning anymore is to suggest to them an eternity of boringness.
If you went to a romance movie where a couple meets, falls in love, no problems occur, and they live happily ever after, you might give it a bad review for being boring. Which I discussed in my video on how there is no such thing as “evil”.
In order to feel happy we need to know what feeling sad or upset was like. In order to love the climax of a movie where the couple reunites, the couple needs to have a problem to overcome.
We enjoy the chase, we enjoy the overcoming, which means we should enjoy the things that are listed as “bad” because we enjoy being able to overcome them.
So, is heaven “boring as hell?” Or are we seated in heavenly places playing the game of life to have some excitement and enjoyment?
Perhaps this is the new earth, but only those in the kingdom of heaven can see it…due to those who sin being in “outer darkness,” spiritually speaking. They will insist this is “hell on earth” rather than “heaven on earth.” But beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
New Video
On November 29th, 2018 I created this newer video to explain my current thoughts on the subject with the use of pictures. In it, I describe how we are to rid ourselves of the “ego” or body’s thoughts on things because that’s not who we truly are. In order to believe your affirmations, picture yourself as your higher self, or spirit, in heaven currently, and affirm everything that who you truly are really truly is right now.

I'm mostly agnostic, recovering hardcore atheist. I used to be dismissive, and more arrogant about my atheism growing up. Now appreciating my Christian friends, who are on the whole, much happier and more pleasant to be around. Love the fact that you are using the Avatar analogy, which is a very woke movie. Hardcore atheists seeing that will have an apoplectic stroke! :) Good times...
